Can't say I've seen one of these before. From way back in the days when they harvested ice from the lakes, rivers and ponds to keep the original "iceboxes" cold year-round. If I had $75 to blow I'd be all over it. Cool piece of history.

It's neat watching the Amish do that every winter here. Big wagons FULL of ice blocks.

 

Ice harvesting still happens at some places in NH. Musterfield Farm and RDC are a couple of places.

 

Icehouse restaurant in Burlington VT used to be ice house, where ice was stored over summers and has cool pics and artifacts on the walls

 

For the Conn. contingency.

 

Sometimes I overfill my garden cart where I have to take stuff out to move it, so that would be a solution. Also take care of a wheelbarrow tipsiness for us spaz's (thus, why I have a 4-wheel, dumping garden cart instead).
