A friend called a couple weeks ago, wanted to know if we wanted some logs. He's helping a guy build a nice campground just down the road from where we did the Plantation job. They are clearing about 9 acres. We got by there yesterday to see what he had ready... It's mostly oak, with some small sweet gum. He's sorting and loading it for us... We had to cut in half, as they were almost 20' long... 1st load 2nd load... 3rd load before lunch... They have a huge burn pile, pine and gum logs, saw some oak in it too... Part of what has been cleared... They have big plans for the area. Will have a small store, swimming pool and they are putting in a Lazy River type water float.
I'm guessing you're making the gum the priority for grabbing to refill your emptying stacks. Beautiful find and great friend.
Whole lotta easy to handle wood there. I have never once had anything like this happen. Closest I've gotten is "Hey I gotta bunch of trees I need cut down, you can have the wood."
