We had a great weekend. Friday, delivered to a new customer. He lives in Canada, owns an international mineral drilling company. He has a local office here, one in Columbia, SA, HQ in Canada.
He comes here about once a month, stays about a week, his office manager told us. Said he wanted to make sure he had wood on hand. Asked for pictures of our firewood. Liked what we had, got 2 trailer loads and an employee stacked it in a building...:thumbs:...
1st load was a cord of red oak. We loaded it with the conveyor. 20231020_093910.jpg
Next load was mixed hardwood, all great smoker wood. Since this wood came from different sheds, we stacked it in the loader bucket and dumped it in the trailer.
1st part was .56 cords of beautiful cherry... 20231020_114807.jpg
Then we added over 1/3 cord great pecan... 20231020_122952.jpg
Finished it off with some premium hickory... 20231020_122619.jpg
    2nd load done... 20231020_123004.jpg
Got home and loaded another 1/3 cord of red oak, dropped it off. He sent us a picture after he stacked it in his new rack he had built. The top of his smoker is barely visible.
He's the guy we split some pecan for not long ago.

Saturday, Miz Carol and I loaded a friend's trailer with a cord of oak, his trailer is smaller than ours, so it had to be stacked on. He is getting this load for a less fortunate family that only has wood heat. We gave him a discount. We dropped it off at his hay barn, he had firefighter classes this weekend. 20231021_100502.jpg 20231021_103555.jpg

@T. Jeff Veal. Perfect pieces of awesome firewood as usual. Glad you are too far south to serve the Nashville market or else I’d have to find another hobby!

This is my P.O.S splitter that my Dad received from his brother In law and was passed down to me from my Dad three years ago. Have sold over 130K and built up 60k of inventory with it. About 30 years old. One engine and two hose replacements to date. Green thingy is my IPA holder.

Weather has been amazing the past 4-6 six weeks for drying my inventory. 75-80 sunny days with 10-18 mph winds and low humidity. Stuck a lot of my stuff with the moisture meter today and would say most of it is good to go.

Had a dude yesterday contact me about delivering firewood to his customers because he wasn’t able to build his inventory this year. He would add a surcharge on top of my price. This tells me I still have room to Jack up my prices. Sounds fishy to me, but he said he would have one of his people meet me on site for payment. I have know for awhile that a large majority of my customers couldn’t carelessly about cost, they just want the best and driest stuff.

I probably won’t bite since most of my customers tip me heavily from November through January and I don’t want any one else ruling my life

Have hit a lot of tree stand nails and barbed wires with my splitter the past week. Messes up my splitter wedge. But cheaper than screwing up a Ck b$12$m to

Sales have slowed downed because of warmer weather I suspect. However, have rebuilt up my inventory up to about 65 cords. That is about 195 face cords of inventory. Times $290 a face cord and I am flush plus tips. When freezing themperatures arrive, I willl not have a day to my self.

Yep, makes loading a breeze. I still have about 35 cords to the right and left of my road that I am moving down to my road stacks. All bone dry stuff.

Any problems with snowfall/plowing or is it minimal there?

Haven't posted in a few days. Sales just going crazy and no time to just do anything but sleep. Actually cut for a hour today. Always try to cut once a week to keep the fuel moving in my saws. Most of my sales have been to well know musical artists lately. Love just chatting with these dudes.
Their lives are just like everybody else's besides their crazy schedules.

Steer clear of the seller wanting to piggyback with you. Lazy scammer no matter how you look at it.
Amazing local pricing there. Keep it up!

I am a natural born skeptic, especially when it comes to firewood. Have sold 45 face cords this month and have more deliveries scheduled for tomorrow and Tuesday. So don't require a "partner" or any special deals. My hickory and white oak is flying out of the woodyard.
