According to the almanac, most parts of the United States that typically see snow should be prepared for totals at or above average. The 2024 Old Farmer's Almanac predicts snowfall above normal across most snow-prone areas (except for the Pacific Northwest).

If you’re in the Northeast and Midwest, snow will arrive beginning in November, with storms, showers, and flurries continuing through the start of spring. Along with above-normal snow, the Almanac predicts normal to colder-than-normal temperatures in areas that typically receive snow. Only snowy New England and the Atlantic Corridor will enjoy winter temperatures milder than typical for their regions.

Wetter-than-usual weather is coming to the southern portions of the Deep South, Texas, and California, with potentially drought-quenching rain. As the winter map shows, much of the U.S. coastline, from New England down to Florida across the Gulf Coast to the Pacific Southwest, will experience mild to cool temperatures.

Well, snow is supposed to be coming soon. I've had my little Kubota now for 5 years and it is just creeping up on a thousand hours. Rather than allow the dealer to heavily empty my wallet for the "Thousand hour service" $$$$$$ I invested in all the fixin's to do it myself. OEM filters and oils. Complete fluid/filter change on engine, tranny, hyd. system and fuel system. This tractor is still like new and has been bullet-proof. I have a front mounted commercial blower, snow pusher and loader as well as a tow behind sander for those lovely "Ice Folly" storms. BRING ON OLE" MAN WINTER !!!!!!

I'm good on wood! (Yeah I know, always need to get more....) I still don't like it super cold (not that we usually get that compared to most on here), and don't like much snow. A little to play with baby girl is ok, but much makes it a pain in the butt dealing with cows...

Some other weather forecasts for the upcoming Winter are selling/predicting pretty much the same as last Winter.
I don't mind no snow, but kinda like to hear they got snow in ski country or at least were able to make some.

Crud, I'm cold snowy, but it is most years. This year is different, practically Indian Summer this October! We'll deal with a bad winter since it's a whole month shorter this year :) Seems today was the last warm day of this year. High tomorrow is only 29* and low Sunday night is down to 6*.

No need for that rig here. We get a heavy snow, it’s gone in a week. When I was a kid, snow came in December and stayed until spring

    good you are prepared

I've definitely noticed more squirrels gathering nuts this fall, and more Woolly caterpillars than years past.

Yesterday I counted 6 squirrels in a 20 foot radius running around collecting Hickory nuts like madmen. I thought to myself..."This is nuts!"

I read that the last El Niño like this one brought us a mild winter in 16-17. I hope they are wrong. I want record cold with frequent threats of blizzards with maybe one south crippling snow of 8”.
