Took today off and split some ash at a friend's place. He's now got about two face cords ready to go. After I was finished he asked me if I'd like some apple that he'd cut down a few weeks ago. Sure thing! Good for 2024-25. Loves me a little apple mixed in with things.

Good stuff there Buck. Will you use some for smoking?

Nice score! Apple is such a great wood. I get just enough of it to have a few splits for the stove every so often and always have a few wheel barrows full for smoker wood . I have enough of it that Im able to share bags of it with friends for smoking.

Love some apple firewood. I’ve been through countless cords. Burns very hot and leaves little ash. Also smells the basement up w/ that wonderful aroma when we had it. Absolutely love it and cherry for smoking meats. :dex:

For sure! I don't use that much for smoking, but my neighbor uses a lot so I'm always looking out for him (I hook him up with apple, cherry and hickory). I am frequently rewarded with smoked brisket and pork butt - love the quasi barter system we have.

On rare occasion. I just don't seem to get it.
