All the surf "nuts" come out when there is a hurricane stirring up the waters. There can be pictures of them in the local papers. If not pictures, stories of their endevours.
One of my teammates at work has the same car. His is purple ( plum wild or something like that)with a 400 big block. He drove it to work yesterday after only getting it on the road this summer.
News is not good here tonight. Mass shooting in Lewiston. about 30 min. from here. The shooter is still on the loose. Many lives lost and many more were wounded.
Well, those may be reasons that people give for not coming to NW to surf, but I've heard that it is great for those looking to hone their technical skills, and face new challenges because of the conditions.

Talking about surfing on the east coast. Our daughter went to North Carolina one fall to compete in the World's surf kayak competitions. There were sure some gnarly looking waves for the event.
It's a different day here. Places are closed, banks, schools, workplaces, etc. I got an email that Fedex is delayed. I think every law enforcement officer is on duty today. Choppers are in the air. My granddaughter was in a restaurant in the area of the shootings, they got out of there fast and headed home. VA has limited access with armed police at the entrance.
