Guy I did the burr oak for has several more trees down, decided to pick on this pecan today. Only had a couple hours but put a dent in it. I didn’t fell it for the record….. not real sure why they did actually, looks like a nice tree and almost no rot. Been down a year or so and will make very nice wood. I haven't had the privilege of burning pecan. The closest ones are about an hour down the hill in the Verde Valley from me. It'd sure be nice to have one that accessible for bucking up and loading. Great job on the score!

Decent amount of wood there. You did make a good dent. Only have seen one yard planting pecan around here.

Nice score! We dont have any Pecan up here but I buy bags of chunks for the smoker. If youre into smoking meats do you plan on using some of it for the grill?

i use to cook a lot with wood but less and less these days. I do still cut the majority of my hickory and pecan to smoke box lengths , in case someone needs some. This one will probably go 50/50 firewood and cooking wood sizes as I have a bunch of pecan cut short already.
