I have heard rumor that echo discontinued the 4910. Anyone know if that is true? If so I need to pick another one up before they disappear. Awesome 50cc saw for the money. If discontinued, are they replacing it with something similar???

Yes. Replace by a plastic clamshell saw the 4920. Heavier too.

The CS-501P is the same saw internally as your 4910 with the addition of the aluminum handlebar, captured bar nuts and Echo's older style all orange look. Lightest 50cc saw made they say.

Get a 4910 while you can. Send 1 to huskihl for XS. Only saw you would need for general farwood cutting.

    My friend bought a 4920
I had a 4910 for four years I liked it better than the clamshells.

I may pick one up and send it to huskil. I’m very impressed with the one I have with just a basic muffler mod. It will easily outrun my buddy’s ms 261 both with 20” bars, buried in dead dry Siberian elm, and new identical chains. The 261 is stock with a modest muffler mod. One with the extra sausage would be a lot of fun. Me thinks it would probably run with my 620p at a whole bunch less weight.

XS almost doubles the HP. Don't normally cut logs this big with it, but nice to see it can handle it, if needed.

Cut very well and it sounds like you are tuned quite conservatively even.

I wonder if the 502P will be any heavier than the one I have?

He weighs them in this vid. If I recall correctly they are within a tenth or two of each other.

Of the dozen saws I have, the 4910 is the one I grab first unless I’m cutting big stuff. Usually take 4-5 saws when I go on a wood cutting adventure. 4910 is the one that ALWAYS makes the trip. Also adds another hour to my cutting when I’m tired of running the big saws toward the end of the day.

It gets more breaks than it used to. It's just heavier. If we have a good bit of 18-20" logs, I'll probably use it. 3/8 chain cuts faster than .325

Think they'll clam them? I look for a filtration upgrade on next iteration. I have to think that they will always have a 'pro' saw for the 50cc class.

    That would be excellent.
