Made a little progress on the lil oak I was working on before the tractor radiator got a hole in it. Have a few more rounds to move. There are two VERY nice pecan down on him I can get so probably start on that soon. 9FE79AD8-66B7-49B5-A742-7DA9D4574833.jpeg 7DB93841-3843-4481-9F9C-44A94EDBA5F4.jpeg

That's a lot of trunk. Much work to process but many barkless splits.

mused the 311 and 261 and a buddy brought a 36” something- started with a H. Looked like a Stihl but was a different color. Did the job , sounded like a dirtbike starting up.

I have no idea. I would guess at least 100. I will measure it this evening and see. Still have at least one more round to get out of the trunk.

I was thinking somewhere between 150 and 200. Counting those rings would sure be difficult, but kinda fun maybe. Did you see that Outdoors with the Morgans video where he counted the rings of a big azz oak, like yours, and sharpy'd noteworth events on the appropriate ring? WWII, WWI, end of civil war.... It was pretty cool.

That is very cool , I will check it out. I cut o e a couple years ago here that was 200+ , makes a guy wonder if the tree could talk how many stories it could tell , especially here in Native American country.
This one was even bigger but I didn’t count any rings on. Still have this stump 627700FA-CE54-4A15-BDFD-07EEF5AC5776.jpeg 6C0DC4F6-2107-4A3B-A9CF-D0A3FBA745B3.jpeg and the big rounds so maybe I will do that.
