I see that they have horizontal shaft Kohlers now, mine has the B&S vertical

 

I was just looking at the splitters and drooling over them, figured I would snap a pic.
I think my splitter has paid for itself but I haven't got my money's worth yet, and it still works like new.
It would be really nice not to have to bust up the big ones so I can lift them though

 

You could always build a ramp.
Or take that 1k and buy a really big saw - make lots of noodles, and lots of really

 

actually I have been thinking about making a ramp to roll them up.
If I'm feeling energetic I get out the Sledge n wedge, if not I get out the 61 do some noodlin.
Probably going to have to buy another blower now cuz the leaves won't disappear on their own.
Edit. Holy crap I just remembered a ramp I have stached away , haven't used it in years it's kind of wide but it is expanded metal Over angle iron

 

Mine is welded steel square tubing with some old grounding rod I had laying around.
You could make one out of 2x4 on edge with a HD L-bracket and some 1x1 to have places to rest the round while you reposition to roll it up onto your work table.
