Hey guys. Gotta big piece of apple wedged in between the ram guard and hydraulic lever blowing fluid everywhere. Do I need a whole new lever assembly? What’s the part called? Easy install? It’s an old MTD splitter. Thanks

On my splitter it's called a log stripper. As for your leak, you are going to have to identify where the leak is. Could be a hose or busted fitting or oring. Hopefully the cylinder or valve isn't damaged.
Where exactly is the fluid leaking? Might just be damaged seal on the lever.

That valve just mounts to the cylinder via a short pipe nipple, right? I'd guess that the stripper pushed on the valve enough to crack the pipe nipple...and its spraying on the handle/spool area. If so then just need to replace the cracked fitting (make sure to use actual hydraulic rated fitting/part , NOT regular pipe!)
Just FYI, that is probably an Energy log splitter valve, you can usually get parts for them easily.

It's probably not rusted on so much as just really tight! Mine was anyways.
It just threads off, but, since the fitting is cracked, it's likely that side will break off in its respective component...at that point you need a large easy out to get the broken threads out...might be easiest to take it to a hydraulic or machine shop, just have them remove it then.

You must be referring to ID?

Ok thanks. You think they’re 1/2” not 3/4”?

Yes, you have to get into a pretty big, and often expensive splitter to have larger than 1/2" on that fitting.
I'm not sure I've ever seen one of those Energy valves with 3/4"...and most cylinders have 1/2" ports too, unless XL, like 4.5"-5" diameter cylinder...even many of those are still 1/2"
