On my way to our local pharmacy this morning and i come to a screeching halt when i spotted this. Saw it the other night at dusk and thought cherry or honey locust based on the red heartwood. Bingo...honey locust. So i knocked and got the okay to cut and take what i want and leave brush. Not much, but HL is an exotic score for me so i get rather giddy when i find some. Ill probably go Saturday as no time today. Ironically my last HL score was right up the street May of last year. He has the rest of a dead HL to take down and im hoping i can get the wood and maybe even a tree removal job. IMG_4157.JPG IMG_4158.JPG

Curious if you have to take the twigs and whatnot or just cut out what you want and leave the rest?

He had trimmed a tree and left it there to haul away in a couple weeks. Waiting for his truck or a friends to haul (i cant remember exactly). I can cut what i want and leave brush.

Being HL i would take the brush too as the dump is a only a couple minutes away. Hoping we get a break in the rain as ill hit it tomorrow.

I think Siberian elm, but could be red, not good with elm ID. Emailed pictures to a friend and he is 100% positive it's HVBW. Maybe I should sell it to him unsplit?  Need to get it out first, but not sure when I will try to split it.
