Spent a few hours in the woodyard today. Oak in one pile, mostly cherry in the other with a bit of elm, sas, and soft maple. My guess is a bit short of a cord I'll find out soon when I stack it. Was splitting right out the bed of the UTV and it def made it easier.

Couple hours very well spent. Some nice looking splits there. Those look longer. What is your standard split length?

Yeah i like it when i can split a load right out of the truck rather than have to stack them and handle again later.

First time I've ever cut sassafras last night, how is it splitting? My saw lasered through the first 2 logs (fresh sharpening) but I didn't bring a maul to test out how it split.

Splits very easily. Be sure to sniff them too. One of my favorite wood aromas.

Were only human. Lots of members love the smell of cherry but i dont go crazy over it. Everyone's olfactory is different.
