1129 rebuild

Here's an 1129 saw I will be rebuilding to sell...but first a little trivia...who can tell by looking at this picture what model it it...winner gets an atta boy!!! Or girl.

That's right but the 1129 series covers either of those. More specifically it's an 020t. I put c1q-s32's on 200t's too. No accelerator pump. But the way to tell it's an 020 and not a 200 is when stihl changed to the 200 they changed the cylinder to have quad open transfer ports. That also needed the case to have larger openings to accommodate the larger transfer openings.

And I guess I should've worded that different...here's the 020t that i just got done rebuilding. Got the saw from an old guy...he just plum wore it out. No machine marks left at all on the piston. Still some cross hatch in the cylinder so I reused that. The carb that was on it was the walbro without the high speed adjustment so that got swapped out to the s32. Here it is all layed out and ready to assemble

These piston clip tools are pretty nice...the magnet on this one is broke but it still works with some persuasion

Line it up with the pin...



Then push the clip home with the other end of the magnetic piece

 

I've never seen one of those - is it a Stihl tool?

Here's the updated tank vent kit for the older tanks


The brass driver fits around barb fitting and you drive it in...I used a deadblow.

020t's didn't have compensating carbs...the new s32 has the snorkel for it to compensate so I got a new connector and cut a hole in the filter base to accommodate it


Here she is all buttoned up and ready for the auction block with a 14" bar. I know a few tree guys in my area that won't hesitate to buy it so I won't have it very long. Ran it tonight and it ran like any 1129 should...they're little animals

Do you happen to have a part number on that tool?

 

Hope you can read upside down...the Australian guys should have no problem reading it The 2209 does 9mm wrist pins and the 2210 does...you guessed it...10mm wrist pins. These are the only two I've been lucky enough to acquire. Call me a cheater but I've never lost a Jesus clip using them.

59108902209 & 2210 are like $100 each. Makes the BUX C-Clipper look like a more cost effective choice.

Yea they're pricey that's for sure...not sure on the exact cost but you're probably close. Both of these are broke but still work so I didn't pay for them. Never heard if the c-clipper...got pics?
