I was at my boat this morning and sitting next to the dumpster was this dock box. It appeared they lost the key to the lock and "chopped" the latch off to get in:rolleyes::confused:o_O… This is about a $300 box., so I loaded it up, and I now have a new kindling wood box!!!:axe::drunk::thumbs:

Corgi about ate my arm off going in there for comparison size!

You know, you would make a fine Maine'r. We are noted for our propensity to repurpose stuff. It's our "make do" mentality. Not necessarily to be confused with junk collectors.

    Nice find and nice size.
I bet the previous owner could fit 10 or 20 kilos, or a chopped up body, in it easily. o_O

No he wasn't!!! He was a good sport though, he just don't like being picked up, when I grabbed him it was all "TEETH", lip curl, and snarrel…. He wouldn't have bit though, it was a show.

It is always sweet to find something as useful as that. Some just don't realize the value...

Sad part about this is, I'm sure they know what it's worth and what the cost is, But now it's no use for it's intended real porpous unless they redrilled and reinstalled another latch or hasp. Would people do that:eek:o_O:eek:? Na… if you got a few bucks to flaunt or burn, it's junk to them, works for me!!! I'm by "FAR" rich and will use this box till it rots from dog pee:rofl: … Being fiberglass, that'll be a while:popcorn:

Sweet find...maybe someone broke in and stole their stuff? And you're right, that was an expensive dock box, being from West Marine.

That's possible, but there is a lot of boat owners around "most" of the time and camera's:ithappened:…. I'm guessing they forgot the key. Eitherway, It was next to the dumpster with trash bags soooo…
