Nice white oak

My buddy and I cut this at a friend's today. That's him running my XS 261 husky.

 

Clear, sunny day…level, grassy and wide-open drop zone…looks ideal!

Saws, beautiful weather, and friends? Oh hell yes!

 

Can't tell buy looking, but it was lightning struck bout 3 weeks ago. The main trunk for 15 or feet and all the top were normal. About 10 feet in the middle was hard as hammered whale @!&$. Funny what lightning does.

 

I was wondering just why it was downed..........

 

It was a nice tree. Had a real weird lean going, and I had to keep it off some fruit tress that you can't see in the picture. Went right where I wanted it.

 

That is a nice tree. Lots of knots in that trunk, but its white oak! Looks like a perfect day for cutting too. You're a great friend letting him use the ported saw!

 

Thanks. I let him cut with it so he will maybe get his 680 ported. He's all smiles and usually gives me the finger when he runs it.

 

I'll just add this here. We split about 2 ricks (sorry 2 ricks) before it started raining.
