Definitely a big difference. My brother in law has a 311. I'll just say Id bet he would appreciate a 50cc professional saw over what he has. I've ran his. I'm not impressed.
Yeah , it is a nice enough saw but definitely a big difference. Maybe I am getting old and weary but the lighter saws are definitely get picked up more of late
A good 50cc saw is very versatile.... I've been running my ms261 the last two days trimming logs at the mill, it's just a sweet machine!
There is another potential benefit to your purchase. I assume it's Mtronic? They were offering manual carb versions recently. Anyway, you can buy and replace the Mtronic solenoid yourself and do a reset and go about your business. On a Husqvarna the autotune carb is non serviceable so you need to buy a new complete carburetor / solenoid and it has to be hooked to computer to get it to function. I had forgotten about this until a Richard Flagg vid popped up on YouTube last night about this very thing. He had two 5 series saws on his bench. One had over 200 hours and the other had 4. Both needed new carbs and to be plugged in to fix.
I haven't ran a stock 261, any 261 for that matter but I'm betting its close. And it's 2.5 pounds lighter than my buddy's 261. Both fully fueled and 16" bars. I do have a stihl light bar on mine which is good for the .5 pounds +/-.
My father heated our house fir 20 years using a Stihl 031AV and a 16" hard nose bar. He cut down big trees somehow. Lol
Great choice. When i bought my 261 my MS290 (56cc) eventually became a shelf queen and later got sold. I later converted to the Mtronic version. What bar length did you get?
Your 311 will see a lot less use now. If i were to venture a guess i see you selling it and getting another pro saw in the future. When i joined FHC my 460 was my only pro model saw and now i own eight of them. Is there such a thing as CAD...heck yeah. Enjoy it and cut safe!
