We had some wood in (Hemlock) but with the cooler temps with some rain coming in we decided to push two more loads in.

The first pic is wood we had left from last years shoulder season, the second pic is the start of this years shoulder season wood.

The last two pictures are from the fire tonight, Hemlock from last year.

50 here right now, so too warm to fire tonight. Tomorrow,.......apparently gonna be a different story. 40's with all day rain then NW winds dropping to mid 30's with frost. Lil' Brother is gonna get a kick in the butt for the start of this year.

The Hemlock is doing the trick, the basement is 74, the main floor is a toasty 71, feels warmer.

We had our coffee by the fire this morning, it felt nice.

Right where I want to be.
    Same here twl.
Sat in front of the stove with my 1st cup this morning......even had a fire going in it.........the stove, not the cup.
    That would be weird.
Dogs have started their yearly gnawing of the firewood ritual too. Life is gooder.:)
About 45 out and 73 inside still.

We hit a low of 36 last night, the wife was liking the fire this morning.

We're getting just over a four hour burn with the Hemlock, after about four hours the stovetop temp is at 200, the pipe temp I didn't notice.

I'm sure that I could get a longer burn, but I like a heat coming out when I'm burning.

Woody, that looks awesome. We're looking forward to our first fire tonight here as well. Temps expected to dip down to near 40, we won't really "need" a fire.....but I WANT one...lol

Gonna dust off some old movies and veg out near the fireplace later tonight....

Good old Hemlock, if the two trails get cleared before the end of September, we have about three Hemlocks from last years storms that are down, I'll get one for shoulder season wood and the other two for milling, do you want the branches? :hair:

    LOL
I use the spruce branches for fire starter at camp & to place on the trail over soft water holes, for the atv.

Yea, send them up, I'll find a use . LOL :)
