I have watched 2 videos of superstick demoing Ripsaw 500’s. What is Ripsaw? Obviously they are paying superstick, or ss is part owner. I’m not impressed by the saw or the flamboyant clown cutting style of ss. Twice he stalled the 500 while cutting. Not a great selling point for ripsaw 500’s if you ask me. He has to cut 16” wood with his 32” bar so it doesn’t stall.
.... Yea I believe its a company out of New York... He visited them on his channel... BBR down played the 500i... was ready to give it away... I believe they contacted him and he sent it out there...
I think its actually in PA. They have other guys doing the porting supposedly and they are just the marketing / face of the business.
If I were one of BBR’s Canadian saw porting buddies, Tinman and Walker, I’d be wondering if he is sharing my work with Ripsaw. I noticed Tinman is being his hype man at the Ripsaw tent. Maybe he gave them Ironhorse grinds to copy
Oh industry leading enhancements and bbr spikes. They will sell a million bumper spikes. Only $2200 for a Ripsaw 500.
Dunno anything about their stuff other than whenever one was running at the show, you could tell by ear. I see this as probing the market. They had a *huge tent there and appear to be trying to break into a commercialized performance saw service. I can't help but wonder if they will end up being on the bad side of an EPA lawsuit a la deisel truck deletion companies in the future. Porting mostly falls under the radar at the moment, but they are trying to go mainstream with it. Too much attention IMO. With increased sales will come increased scrutiny.
That BBR character fancies himself a "pipe" designer and is going to be in partnership with rip-off-saw to market those. Millions of BBR zombies will buy those.
I used to watch Buckin just to see some older big saws get ran in wood. I guess I stopped paying attention when he started having people send (new) saws to him. I've still got Nuts319 & OL' Skool Logging channels to get my fix of chainsaw/felling videos.
Pretty sure they’re close to Johnstown PA. No first hand experience with their stuff but.. some on ope were doubting they properly machine cylinders (ie cut squish band and base). I found a vid that shows they do. Don’t take that as me defending their work, like I said, no experience w/ them.
