I had a family stop by recently to pick up 1 cord of firewood. Toss loose, completely filled the dump trailer 7x14x30" sides. Had a nice mound to the top too.
I have a buddy with the same size trailer. Tossed in you gotta mound it up in the middle until it's almost falling out. That's 1 cord.
Are you saying you can fit 2 cords in your buddies similar size trailer or mounded, it's still 1 cord?
I suppose a 7×14 ft loaded 3.5ft high all the across front to back... But not that one in the picture
One can find those type of deals all over. I recently talked to a fellow who just purchased 6 cord of wood from a large dealer. Strange that it looked like if you stretched it there might have been 3. But it was a deal as he only paid 250 per cord and it was delivered...
Another case of buyer beware. I assume most buyers assume they are getting the correct amount. Then most folks only look at the bottom line. We are bargain hunters in this country. I encounter this quite often with new buyers when i give them the correct volume.
Your trailer dimensions make 245 cubic feet. 1.36 cord loose. Same trailer with 44’ tall sixes would hold two cord loose. All this using 180 cf as a loose cord. just loaded my 6x10x40” trailer which makes one cord. I could have done a more exacting job but it averages out and this customer got extra last time, and they know it
