I had a place snap off 3 studs within a couple years, Sure the paid to fix it at another shop but I had to drop it off and hitch a ride, pita for WWW too. (I used to get studded snows put on every winter/changed out in spring).
Sitting in the stove room I can hear stink bugs falling down the stove pipe. There is going to be quite the collection in there for the first fire of the year. Stacked a cord of red oak today. I'm going to have to split some good dimensional pieces for the end of the cord. Too many gnarly and odd shaped splits to work.
Oh no! You won't have a problem finding another job. The problem is finding the one that is right for you. You state may have some help available to you. Our does, along with some training opportunities. Hang in there.
Lots of rain and wind today and tomorrow. I made sure to dump about a cord or so in the shed the other day so it's dry. Gonna head out there shortly with the little man and get to stacking. Then probably spend the afternoon in the shop sharpening chains.
Boy am I glad I put this wood in the shed to stack. Picture doesn't do it justice but it's coming down sideways in buckets at the moment
Changed the oil in the pickup. Sanded and wire brushed our wood rack. It wasn't looking too good. Looks much better, gave it a rattle can paint job. It would look better with matte but its what I had left over in the shed.
I cut up another tank on the ms180 of wood, loaded it onto the trailer and just got it split before our rain started again. works out to about a face cord each tank full.
There’s a project starting that’s supposed to be 4 years long. Requires me trading my Equipment trailer off for a side dump trailer. bank is agreeing to work with me, the trailer dealer has a workable deal. My mechanic can put a wet kit for hydraulic on my truck that would work… I’ll know more first part of next week.
This is the make I’m looking at buying. I’ve worked with this particular dealer (not shared) for the past 12 years on all my equipment. manufacturers YouTube video.
Kids were away on a highschool band trip and wife was away on a girls weekend. I was left unsupervised so I ended up getting a new to me vise. And a bunch of USA made box wrenches.
Not good resolution, but most weekend mornings my neighbor invites me to join he and his father for coffee klatch . We are on a dead end road about a half mile long. sometimes I just hop on my bike and enjoy the quiet of the morning. This inspired his father to get his bike out. 93 years old. Seems to have remembered how to do it.
The new back porch project has gone on for way longer than I thought it would. They have been fighting weather, and then they had other stuff to do on some of the nice days. It's all good though. Friday they had all the decking boards in place. At that point I could seriously contemplate covering the yellow paint on the house (bottom half) with a color that would more closely complement the Foggy Warf color of the porch, the brown upper half of the house, and not be such a departure from the blue of the shed I had installed last winter. Oh yeah, and it has to not clash horribly with he almond color of the windows. I've always wanted to replace the yellow, I just couldn't "see" what other colors would work besides green - a hard pass on that. And, I wanted to get the painting done before they got the railings up - I'm a spaz with paint and can get it in places that are covered or nowhere even near the paint site So I brought home a billion color samples and Blue Heather (1620) was my choice. Saturday was not a good day for painting as it was cold with intermittent rain. Yesterday, although heavily overcast, was a bit warmer and no rain. I was able to get two coats on the backside of the house and one coat on the south side of the house. It makes quite the difference and I didn't make a total mess of things
