Before Labor Day, a friend picked up a cord of wood and we set up Blue Samson for it. After returning from our trip to Myrtle Beach, we have worked on the log pile a couple times Gotten 1 row, 1/3 cord so far...
About 13 of oak, 9 for delivery... I want to keep these 4 for our use...in a few years... We have about 2 cords of hickory, 1 1/2 cords of cherry, 1/2 cord or a bit more pecan.
Added another row to the rack last night. Need to finish this today, after some errands this morning. We have a small splitting job offsite tomorrow
IIRC, the splits towards the top were bucked using the XS4910, running X-cut SP33 chain. It is semi chisel, .325... I think the splits towards the bottom may have been bucked with the XS029, 3\8 full chisel.
Nice! I think thats the tightest stack ive ever seen you folks make! You give new meaning to the term "tight cord"
Amazing hoard of pure beauty! I think it is surely a special talent because I try to emulate these stacks, but to no avail. I might have to hijack a few pictures and claim them as my own. I don't see any trademark images even though there should be one on every picture.
Thanks, guys. I still see some cracks in there...it was all pretty much straight grain trunk logs, the right size to make about 8 pie wedges. I took my time S/S that row, my hunny was on the lawn mower.
Crack the whip and get your honey a feeler gauge, so she can tighten up the gaps even more. Jk, that stack is tight as a puzzle amazing.
