Do you make signs / artwork using that Woods?

 

I'm going to try it out, just for some chit around the house, if this won't do the trick, I'll get the torch out!

 

Basswood works really well for pyrography.

 

All I have is White Pine at the moment, but if Mother Nature puts one down, we'll mill some.

 

If you have a rheostat, it can help tone down the tip temperature if you get problems with it running too hot.

 

That reminds me of a toy "woodburning set" we had as kids. Except yours is a pro thing, not a toy. Our old one became my first soldering iron when I got interested in electronics. Very long ago.
