Cutting on some red oak. Laid the ground work last week. Cut, roll down the hill, split and load. XS7900 Only ran about a half tank in each saw.
They sure do run awesome after port work! 24” and that’s a pin oak for my dad. His neighbor allows us to cut dead wood.
I bought it with a blown out clutch drum. It nicked the oil pump too, so after a few smalls, I had a clean one, at a great price. It's become my go-to saw.
You suck, a little anyway. Got mine used at an auction back in 2010 for $175.00 Great saw but need to pull the muffler and see how things are looking. Seems a little low on compression, but runs great.
Our new work saws, mine is 500i with 28” light bar, coworker has a 500i with 36” light bar. We each have a 261cm with 20” as well for smaller stuff. We have a loaner/shop saw 261 with a 20” and some new top handle stihl as well. This is a forestry/restoration company. Currently on a heli-logging job, and absolutely love the power and weight of the 500i. Not quite sold for personal firewood cutting… but almost. Wife said why not? I said $1600! Eek.
