Hey us hoarders gotta stick together.

 

No issues with the wife, just been too warm but cooling down some.

 

Today was perfect. It was nice to sweat very little.

 

One is enough.

 

I went out and scoped some new access areas for dad yesterday. If I saw any prime wood, I’d have been cutting today. This is some of what I saw:

 

Those ash can’t be too far gone (at least not the one that still has the small twigs in the dead crown)

 

They pop up everywhere like Red Maple and Poplar. Most wild Cherry around here is 4-10”.
I have an 8-10” in my backyard that needs to come down.
Another observation is they die back/off around the 8-10” size.

 

So...What is the BTU rating on the Poison Ivy

 

Are you itching to find out?

 

If I fall them in the field, we have to clean up the mess. If the base is too punky, that's a lot of waisted energy. If I fall in the woods, it'll be harder to load. These will come down one way or the other. Probably when we can wear long sleeves to prevent contact with the poison.

That was my thoughts too!

 

Something I know little about

 

Load of beech. Only sweat through one shirt. Lots of small stuff, laying the ground work for the bigger wood later.

Compared to the tropical humidity weve had most of the Summer it was great. Today was in the upper 60's with a good breeze while i was at the cut. It was great!

 

Yet another load of cherry.

 

All this cherry, now you just need some ice cream.

 

Last little bit of red oak, little bit of hickory and elm. These cooler temps are a welcome relief.

 

I think for the time being my tour of terror is being placed on hold. This was certainly a firewood no quarter weekend. Rain tomorrow, chores and then the work week. There's always next weekend though.

 

I have several spots ready to go but it will be at least a couple weeks yet.
