Ya the religious person would say these weather patterns are God's wrath. The Atheist would say it's Global warming.
More rain. Counties to the east of us have flash flood warnings. We’re supposed to get .5 by morning. Currently 73 at 11p.
37 overnight....no frost here. Right on the lake always helps with keeping the temps warmer a little longer in the fall. 43 now and another day where we won't get out of the 50's.
We had 61.3 this morning, it rained pretty good out starting last night so I'll check the rain gauge later. I think they forecast 4 days without rain after today.
Always dictated by the temps. Right now, the house is still holding heat so there's no need for a indoor fire. Basement is just a bit cool, but once you've acclimated to it, you don't notice it. With humidity hanging at 100%, that helps a bunch too!
Hopefully we can wait until October 1 this year but like you said, the temps will make that decision for us.
Lit my first fire of the season today. It was 33 degrees when I got up to let the dog out this morning. My windshield on my truck was frosted. It was 58 degrees in the house. I burned a little bit of splitter scrap. Mostly bark and big knock offs from the wood splitter. I let it burn for about an hour and half before letting it go out. I also pulled over on the way to drop my son off at school this morning, to pick up these two stout chunks of honey locust. They were next to the road. Probably fell off of someone’s trailer or something.
40 degree lows tonight and tomorrow here. Burning some spruce and basswood that I had sitting in a 2 year old covered pile, and a few maple uglies to mix in for some coals. It's been warm days but cold and damp nights in my neck of the woods since last week when I had my first indoor fire of this season. Definitely a little earlier than a normal year.
Might be around here but I missed the local temps on the radio this morning. 33 here for overnight; 45 now heading into the low 70's today!!
Woke up to temps in the low 60s for what feels like the first time in weeks if not months. Turned the air off in the house and opened the windows. Drove in to work with the windows down.
We had a low of 48 this morning, I almost brought some firewood in after I was done my outside work today but didn't.
