My wife wanted to let me cook "girl scout TV dinners" right after work. So I did. Fired up the fire pit with maple and ash. Put sliced onions, potatoes, and a 80/20 hamburger patty in foil packets a little salt, black pepper and garlic salt and sealed them up. I got the coals nice and hot, and used a Weber grill rack over the coals. 15 minutes later, dinner was ready. My wife was impressed and it was easy with almost no clean up.
"Hobo dinners" is what they're called here. 99 will put a can of mushroom steak sauce in them also. IMO, she can leave it out!!!
We do this often in the wood stove during the burning season. Quick easy cleanup and tastes great. Chicken with some peppers and onions done like that makes for great fajitas.
