Continuing to work on clearing out space for our new barn. Today, it was a red oak, 24" dbh, about 36" where I felled it. It had a small lean exactly where I wanted it to go, it went smoothly. That's a MMWS461 w/ 28" bar in the picture. Next tree is black oak a little taller and !30" dbh.

Nice fell. Are you going to dig the stump out, grind it, or just let it rot away?

I'm trying to sell logs to a local mill for lumber now. I've got 3 lifetimes of lumber for myself already

I'll just leave this stump. I will be just outside the new barn, but would have hung over it.

Make sure the pigs get their share. Ive never had oak smoked bacon though!

Nice job on the felling Mike. Your stumps are always picture perfect.

    1) No doubt pigs and sheep will love the acorns, too.
    2) Hah   Highly curated content. I only post the good ones. You should see some of my "holy sh*t :hair:" stumps. Always humbling for us who are only weekend warriors. Safety is #1, 2 and 3.
