Continuing to work on clearing out space for our new barn. Today, it was a red oak, 24" dbh, about 36" where I felled it. It had a small lean exactly where I wanted it to go, it went smoothly. That's a MMWS461 w/ 28" bar in the picture. Next tree is black oak a little taller and !30" dbh.
I'm trying to sell logs to a local mill for lumber now. I've got 3 lifetimes of lumber for myself already
Make sure the pigs get their share. Ive never had oak smoked bacon though! Nice job on the felling Mike. Your stumps are always picture perfect.
1) No doubt pigs and sheep will love the acorns, too. 2) Hah Highly curated content. I only post the good ones. You should see some of my "holy sh*t " stumps. Always humbling for us who are only weekend warriors. Safety is #1, 2 and 3.
There is a thread on here for ugly stumps. Ugly stump and face cuts. Ive posted some im not proud of on there.
