Ask and you shall receive. My recent cherry thread had me needing 1/4 cord of cherry to finish a stack of such. Job yesterday and today had me working on a cul-de-sac out of town. I arrive today and a tree service taking down a gnarly dead oak a couple houses up. I stop and talk to foreman asking if he was taking any other trees down. Proceeds to show me a 16-18" DBH dead cherry. After making arrangements with the guy im working for he later drops it in front with for me to cut and take. What are the odds? Maybe dead a couple years as sapwood looks punky but heartwood good. Truck not empty, no saw, and not enough time later so going tomorrow. I didnt even ask the Gods either!!!
Cut and loaded this afternoon. No sun luckily, but the tropical humidity made it less than pleasurable. More than i thought at close to two face cord. I overloaded a bit! MS400 did the honors. Left the nuggets/shorts behind. Some of this will top off a half cord of cherry, some for bundle wood and some for general cordage. I wonder what the wood gods will have for me next time? Either way ill keep pleasing them.
Nearly 185K. When i bought it there was 124K. Halloween it will be five years ive owned it. $3900 investment that doesnt owe me anything and is still going strong.
Nice score buZZsaw BRAD , what's the forecast for your area from the Hurricane coming up the east coast?
I'm pushing 265K on my 04 F150 5.4 v8. Only issue was that specific year had a cam phaser defect in the engine block.
Nice cherry score. I've gotten alot of cherry that looks like that regarding the punk. I leave it on, it gives me the ohhs and ahhs when it lights up quick. Makes me think "I'm really burning now!"
That's what we need! Instead of tailgates with built in steps (well, those are ok) and seats, we need an F150 "FHC edition" with a built in cord counter in the bed/tailgate!
