Today marks my last day of freedom from the classroom until June rolls around again next year. It was a very productive year and will be another record breaker. Most of that is due to having college kids around during Christmas break and their spring break. I’ve never worked on firewood so much in the winter as I did this past year. Here is a picture of each pile. Not appearing is the 29.5 cords I’ve already delivered.

Delivered 7 cords and home by 1:30 today. Thought a nice triple ipa would hit the spot!

I'd be on top of the world if I delivered four face cords and arrived back home at 1:30. Just a guess, but don't think 7 cords was wheelbarrowed and stacked via steps and stairs into the back patio. If it was, multiple IPAs would be in order. Have found those buying large volumes in August and September are your best long term customers. They are serious wood burners.

Correct. This is dump and go. Most of my customers who reach out this early have been with me for years.

How many weeks will you go steady like this until it stops/slows down?

I spend Friday afternoons and most of the day on both Saturday and Sunday until I am nearly sold out which has traditionally been late November/early December. I anticipate this year going longer simply because I have more than ever. It's the part of the firewood process I like the least but it's the part where the money comes in.

Yes, and with busy weekends, it stacks up rather quickly.

After delivering this weekend, I sit at exactly 50 cords delivered so far. Does t seem like much of a dent in my piles. Going to be a long delivery season.

Had sone time after work yesterday to do some cutting so my kids have something to split. Got about 2.5 cords of Goldilocks oak cut. also had some visitors when I was working. They come within 30-40 yards of me while I’m running the saw and moving logs around with the tractor.
Looking like no deliveries this weekend as it’s forecasted to be a washout. Currently have 28 people on my delivery list. Most aren’t in a hurry but I can’t afford to get backed up anymore than I am.

Stopped by moms this past week to load up a half cord of oak for delivery and saw this nice load of fresh oak and maple dropped off. My tree guy has been dumping a lot recently.
Now that’s it’s finally stopped raining, I have a busy delivery weekend ahead. Have 9 cords going out today and hopefully around the same Sunday. Trying to get caught up but Thursday I had 8 more cords ordered. Going to be a grind till winter rolls around.

I climbed on top of one of my split piles as I was tarping what’s getting delivered today. Decided to snap a picture or two while up there.

Nice Goldilocks logs there. A rarer sight in your wood yard?

By the time the weekend is over, a full windrow of oak will be gone and about 80-90% of a mixed hardwood pile will be gone as well.
