I CSS a cord of honey locust between May and September 2020 and have a customer for it. Just wondering what type of premium i should get. No pics but wood is stacked off ground but i never top covered. Last time i checked the stack there was no evidence of frass which, to my understanding, is common on HL. Rare score for me here.
    Thoughts/input FHC?

Hard for me to guess because wood goes cheaper than average in my area. A super premium price for me would be $250-275.

I am currently selling all my face cords for $275 and cords for $825. All wood types from A-W. Every place is different, but all takes the same time and effort. Sold 35 FCs last month and October through December are my big months by far. If you have the good and dry stuff, put a big price tag on it!

I will be bumping up my price shortly because of crazy demand and higher diesel costs! I use higher prices in order to slow down demand, but the extremely wealthy don’t really care about prices, just want the good stuff no matter what.

I sold a discounted cord yesterday to a guy who drove 75 miles one way to pick it up. With tips, probably could have banked $900 in November with the same firewood. He was a Coast Guard dude, so was happy to give him my best stuff at a discounted price. Why he contacted me is a mystery. Well, he said he could not find good dry firewood anywhere. And he liked my YouTube inventory video.

It’s hard to charge much of a premium because to most people firewood is either wet or dry or pine. 10 years old HL is just as good as the seasoned hardwood from another guy. When they burn it they might notice a difference.

Do you ever charge more to those that can afford it, and, cut those others a price break?

I would charge 25% more than normal.

Add 50 to your typical charge.

If I could get 7-800/cord I’d sell half my stash, or more!!

I have 6 totes of HL and BL that was split in 2016-2017. Before Lefty passed away we agreed on a minimum of $180 a tote. That would be between 1/4-1/3 cord each and probably closer to the 1/4 cord. No plans to sell as I may never have it again.

Those that can not afford my firewood do not contact me. I am a full time seller (50-70 hours per week). Does a gas station, grocery store etc charge more or less depending on your income? There are dozens of firewood sellers in middle TN well below my price. I am very sorry that I have great premium dry firewood and awesome customer service that others don’t provide.

Charge as much as the market will pay. Classic supply and demand. If other sellers want to compete then let them. Yes, your prices are very high for my market but that’s okay.

I am the highest per cord in my town. I am near the highest in Casper. BUT my stuff is split and seasoned, whereas the other competitors split to order. I also try to deliver in 24-48 hours and show up on time for delivery. I'm beating my competitors on communication so far because most only split/deliver on weekends and can be hard to get ahold of.

I'm not sure most in my area can differentiate between Sass & White oak.

Plenty of $75/truckload sellers. Not a one of them lists single species sales. "mixed hardwoods" Some advertising full cords for $100.

EOD could have it trucked down to him and still turn a profit!

I was just wondering if you offered any military vets that might be down on their luck, a price break.
