I had an oliva 2nd that was substituted for what I originally ordered back when I got it some time ago. VERY GOOD! Every time I have one of these, I can definitely detect cedar in the aroma. It was another one I smoked down to the nub. Extreme amount of smoke produced from it. Maybe around a 6.5" long and close to a 60 ring gauge. Wish I knew what it was for sure....
I haven’t had a bad one from the Oliva 2nds I bought. They are Maduro Churchills, I have some Maduro torpedoes but haven’t tried them.
This one was very mild, I put it down at the 1/2 way point. I will finish it in the morning. I went grabbed something with a bit more flavor.
Having another Southern Draw tonight, 3 more left in the sampler so probably have another one tomorrow night.
You’re welcome my friend! They’re pretty decent sticks. Everyone I’ve shared with seemed to like them.
Had this Stilwell Star Navy No. 1056 tonight while relaxing by the campfire at the lake. I really enjoyed it. You could really taste the Virginia pipe tobacco blended well with the cigar leaf. I’ll be ordering more.
We’re staying with the in-laws this weekend in Des Moines and I didn’t bring enough cigars. The wife and I ran over to the shop and picked up a few. We got this Perdomo, a Hemingway, and a Judge.
I have a bunch of Perdomos but they have never really tripped my trigger. The Hemingways & My Fathers I really enjoy. Which shop did you go to ?
We stopped at Greenleaf on the south side it’s only a couple mile from the in-laws The Perdomo was a bit of a disappointment but the My Father was excellent. Most likely have the Hemingway for breakfast.
That’s a bummer about the Perdomo. I have been to Cigar Source & Iowa Cigar but never Greenleaf. I really like Leaf Brothers out off I-80 at the Waukee/Rubes Steakhouse exit. They have a nice selection & no traffic to deal with getting there. There is a bigger one in Ankeny but have yet to visit it. It’s very convenient on the rare occasions I go to my wife’s sister’s in West Des Moines & not to far out of the way when I go to Boone. Plus Waukee has a nice ice cream shop right up the road from it.
