Anyone know which one dumbs down the best?

I can take one of my dentist drill Xanax like usual. Or, go an hour early and for only a couple hundred dollars they will give me valium at the dentist office, wait, then drill.

I'd rather save the time and $$ and go with the xanax I have (it's expired but oh well) but if valium is better I'd go that way.

    Thanks

Few good stiff drinks will get you the same results and somebody in the Dentist's office can film a awesome you tube video.

I once went to dentist to get a crown installed. They have some deal where if your blood pressure is high, they can't work on you. "We have to wait until your blood pressure goes down." 'That won't happen until after I leave.' I'm normally not too anxious, even when a cavity is involved, but I knew they had to grind down my molar to fit the crown and that it wasn't going to be a 5 minute process. Thus, I carried anxiety that day at the dentist. It was no question for wisdom teeth...yes...knock me out for $300.

Sorry, not enough experience with either to give an opinion.

Afraid I'm not a fan, and would be too embarrassed to breath that or alcohol on him. Idk.

The idk is for me to go to doc and ask for new dumb pills ( pita ) or just pay the extra $$ and time at the dentist for valium. Husband is driving me because it's in another city, and they require him to stay in the office the entire time, like 2.5 hours. It's frustrating me.

How about hydrocodone? Would that help?

Alcohol would just thin your blood and make a mess plus, at least for me, does nothing for anxiety. I really hate it when they drill through the novacaine and it has happened so I notice my fists clenching as they drill and so do they. Nobody is happy when Highbeam is in pain.

The actual drugs are really cheap. Muscle relaxers, narcotics, etc. prescribed are generic and super cheap at the pharmacy. The dentist may even be able to prescribe.

Some dentists are real jerks and want to give you just enough novacaine to barely tolerate the procedure. F that. I would rather be numb for a week that have insufficient novacaine. I fired my last dentist for this lame trick. I don't think he was trying to save money on drugs but just liked walking that line.

If you got any oxy take a couple. You just won’t care about anything for a while. Good relaxer. Wish i still had some.

Xanax and valium are dirt cheap.
The xanax you have is likely still potent.
When I had a root canal the dentist told me to come back in a week and just handed me one for the reschedule.
I took xanax for 6 months, it only takes about 15, 20 minutes to start being effective. Course when you take it daily twice a day ya really can't tell how long it takes to start working, or I couldn't. I did save a couple though .....
I have no idea how valium compares as I've never had any.
Tranxene is pretty much the same.

    Hydrocodone is for pain.
    Xanax is for stress/anxiety.

YIKES! Sorry to hear about the novocaine, I think my drill anxiety is from a childhood experience with incorrect or forgetting it all together (hippy dentist in the 70's, I had bottle rot teeth so a lot of dentist visits). This dentist does give valium on site, adds another hour to the long trip and a couple hundred dollars

OKAY! This indecision and worry could be worse than being under the drill. Thank you Bill, think I'll swallow the expired xanax on the 1.5 hour ride there, and either be tolerant or white knuckle it. I have to get this done.

You remember sitting in the chair looking at the monstrosity of a drill and everything else? That was worse just wondering what the hell was that thing going to do to you than the actual procedure.
