Like I said "painfully".lol Don't use RSF. Go to RS with rakers at .035 with a 8 pin I come over hear a couple months ago.........much gooder
I buy only stihl chains cause my dealer is so close. From my experience I only use full comp till I get over 30" with a strong mid 70cc saw.
Why not full comp? Why skip or semi? With that much bar and that much saw? Using Semi skip or full skip is a waste in my opinion. Much more gooder!! I read that thread too.... My constructive criticism. . Use the 362 with a 16" and 8 pin. That's my advise on 12" wood Use the best tool for the job!!
There you go...... better yet buy them from Jasha Reynolds if I spelled that right aka tree slinger. His will be bad azz. Forgot more than I will know
Dex my 362 is very happy with a 20" oregon semi skip square. Rpms stay up better than full comp on my 362c. Im thinkin full comp 25 square with the 461 as it has plenty of azz to pull it!!! Lol
Nothing wrong with debate as long as everyone stays civil and something is learned as being the reason Im here
I'm half tempted to see what Chad would charge? I don't want to race, but rather know what the 2 saws have over one another.
So on raker height .022 to about .035 is what most like its sounding like? I know Ive done .035 on my 026 before and that pretty aggressive for that little saw. Ive settled on about .022 to .025 as it seems about the happy spot for not binding that little saw up? Guess a ported 76cc would have much more grunt for lower rakers but whats the limit recommended for cutting firewood?
I agree. Think I have a new 25" stihl fullcomp at the shop ill set the rakers and try again with a 8 pin
What really threw me off was the wot rpm to clean the 4 stroke up out of the cut. With a bigger piece of wood and the full comp im sure it will smooth the 4 stroke right out
