Couldnt believe what i was reading. Copy/pasted from the article. 9. Stool Transplants Can Treat Certain Infections Fecal microbiota transplants are real — and they work. Research shows a fecal transplant — in which stool from a healthy person is placed in the colon of an infected person — is an effective treatment for C. difficile bacterial infection. The trillions of good bacteria in a healthy person’s poop can recolonize another person's digestive tract and treat infections that haven’t responded well to other treatments, including antibiotics and probiotics, Sheth says. Researchers are looking into the potential for fecal transplants to treat other illnesses, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), autism, and obesity, but the procedure is currently not approved for these conditions. So how do you ask someone to be your poop donor? And more importantly — who? Sheth suggests asking someone whose healthy gut bacteria likely differs from yours; ideally, a friend or family member who lives in a different household. Id gladly be a donor should anyone need one! Ive been told im full of it!
I think I remember, seeing that The Wood Wolverine had experience with this… or knew someone that had had it… there was a thread or talk of it…
This is a life saving procedure (sometimes as simple as swallowing a pill) for people that need it...you lose your good gut bacteria and you're dead.
Speaking of poop, I found some Charmin on sale. We've never used Charmin after having trouble with it in our septic/pipes in 1994. NOT a fan, it's like trying to wipe your behind with a tea towel.
Favorites are Angel Soft and Target's house brand, Up & Up (case of 48). Guess what, Target does not offer it for delivery anymore, instore only, and the stores are 200 mi round trip.
Yep, that was me. I had a campylobacter infection (from washing chicken eggs) for over a year. Horrible experience to say the least, and that was one of the possible remedies advised by my doc. I chose not to go that route. Tried several natural ways to try and kill those bad bacteria. Wormwood tea, lots of sauerkraut (which I absolutely hate), and several others. It was a barrage of stuff and not sure which one worked. I will never again ingest wormwood tea. It’s nasty. After doc explained this procedure, I about _hit. But seriously, you’re right. I never imagined such a thing. Idea is to completely wipe out as much bacteria (good and bad) in an effort to kill the bad. Then you have to re-populate w/ the good. buZZsaw BRAD doc recommended my son for donor. Like I said, didn’t go that route.
Wouldnt an OTC probiotic do the same? I'd opt for the transplant over sauerkraut. I despise the stuff. Just the smell makes me nauseous. I can remember back in my drinking days going to the diner after bars closed. My friend orders a reuben sandwich and me a normal breakfast. I tasted the saurkraut in my food. I sent it back. I nearly puked.
A "reverse-injected" rectal dose of Yooper Dave's special chile works twice as fast and would kill any bacteria, good or bad. His inverted chile recipe even outperforms his famous "hunt camp green stew" recipe and it is have the price.
