It feels a special kind of way outside today. Got some combination of a cold and alergies going on so it's not like I feel like doing anything anyway. Might as well be hot as hell.
We are having some of the hottest days and humidity here in years for August. One of our heat pumps went out last week and will not be replaced until 05 September. Always the best timing on these things. At least we have been provided two temporary indoor AC units by the HVAC company in the mean time.
It is 77F here. Sun is shining and there is a breeze. However, as usual, rain is in the forecast. I feel sorry for anyone with kids who is camping. It hasn't been a summer for much of anything outside unless you are a duck.
Right now it’s only 66º here. The high for today was only 71º. This has been one of the coolest and wettest summers in recent memory. Not that I’m complaining. I am not a fan of high heat and humidity.
It came through here about 12:30-1:30 this morning...there were tornado warnings all over the place, not sure if there were any that did damage or not, but the storm was moving at 60 MPH they said, and they were claiming down burst straightline winds of 80-90 mph! I knew it was coming but went to bed anyways...just got to sleep when the weather radio went off for tornado warning...decided to go outside and make sure stuff was buttoned up as far as things blowing around the yard, it was dead calm until a lil breeze kicked up and within a minute or less the wind was roaring and raining sideways...if I had waited another 5 seconds I'da been drenched! Our power never went out, but it sounded like it was for many people!
At least you’re not dealing with forest fire smoke! It was rare here 10+ years ago, now it’s every year. AQI is 100+ today so we need to close the windows again. That sucks when you don’t have A/C… I honestly haven’t been paying attention…do we acknowledge climate change on this site or is it too touchy?
Not too long ago it was global cooling. It’s all the narrative of the day. I’m sure if you go talk with some dinosaurs and wooly mammoths they would agree with this.
