It's 2 am Sunday morning and I'm wide awake. Can't seem to shut my mind off anymore. I get 1 maybe 2 nights of good rest a week. Anyone else have this problem?

No, not at all

I wake up every morning between 1:30am and 3am. Sleeping in is 4:30 am - which happens only once or twice a month. I also wake up several times during the 4-6 hours I am sleeping. Welcome to what getting older does to you.

It gets worse as you get older. Part of my problem is there is no reason to stay up past 8 or when it gets dark.

When do you go to bed in December if there's no reason to be up after dark

I force myself to stay up until 7 or so. Eating dinner and a couple news shows between dark and 7pm helps.

My wife and I go to bed between 8:30 and 9:30 PM and get up between 3:30 and 4:30 most days. Luckily we are both morning people.

Sometimes I sleep good sometimes not... A lot depends on whats going on inside my brain especially with work... But I'm usually +/- 30 minutes on 8pm going to bed and up between 2 and 3 a.m. ... every once in while I'll hear my alarm at 3:30 am... But I'm usually out the door for work at 5:15-5:30...

Yes. This week I was awake anywhere from 2:00 - 3:00. I don't mind getting up early but not that early. I was blessed one day when I got up at 2:00 but laid back down around 6:00 and got a couple more hours of sleep. That made me feel much better.

I find that my sleep depends on being hydrated. Sounds odd, but that’s my chemistry I suppose. I make an effort to drink water throughout the day and lately, I drink a seltzer before bed.

I'm 50. I sleep fine when I'm not thinking about anything. It's like Chvymn99 said my mind is a everything but sleep.

I still sleep pretty well, down at 11:30, up at 6 on weekdays, weekends I might be up until 12, maybe 1, then wake up between 7 and 8. Usually sleep 6-7hrs...hard to get more than 8 anymore! I am fortunate that I do fall asleep quickly (wife says I must have an off switch on my ear) and don't usually wake during the night.

I fall asleep quickly (beer might help). If I wake up to go to the bathroom and don't immediately fall back asleep, the wheels start turning.

Surprised no one has said it so I'll be that guy - medical marijuana -indica will help with sleep.
Has Arkansas made that step yet or is it still the devils lettuce there? My mind never shuts off even when sleeping.
I like to put on a documentary before going to sleep it helps distract the brain. And forcing myself to shutoff the daily events rewinding thru the brain.

My sleep habits are all over the place. I rarely stay asleep for 4 or more consecutive hours. Sometimes I am able to fall back asleep, sometimes I can’t. I was in Iceland back in June and through the 9 days there, I was awake at every hour of the night and never saw complete darkness. I couldn’t help but think how much more I could get done living in a place with that much light.

When I wake up in the night and the wheels start turning, prayer and singing hymns in my mind puts me back to sleep. Although campinspecter is deaf without hearing aids, I am sure that my singing out loud would wake him up. I am not a good singer.

I have to be careful not to go to bed too early. Or I'm up too early.
I've tried melatonin and didn't like the side effects.
I tried Ambien and wow the first night I slept great. 2nd night was like I took nothing. 3rd night I woke up and was paralyzed or dreamed it, either way it was so terrifying I got rid of the Ambien.
I tried some CBD gummies but reading the label the main sleep aid ingredient is melatonin. Do not like.
A shot of rum helps sometimes. But sometimes I wake up in two hours instead of four to six like I want. I'm not drinking rum all night unless I change my name to Jack Sparrow.
A lot of physical work and exhaustion works the best .....

I started doing this when I had back problems and finally surgery a couple years ago. All the steroids they kept giving me made it impossible for me to sleep so I started vaping, just maybe 3 hits before going to bed. That gave me a good 5-6 hours as opposed to the 1 or 2 I was getting.

My back is 100% better now than it was back then but I kept vaping the same amount and now I get at least 7 hours or more a night. Its been a savior for me.

My wife finds drinking a cup of Rosehip/Hibiscus herbal tea just before bed time helps a lot for her
