Got all the shutters dry fit this morning. Time to start gluing them up.

Frames are cherry (that's what I had in 5/4) and heartwood is very resistant to decay. Panels are exterior grade plywood. Getting a couple coats of solid color stain so everything will look uniform. Drilled weep holes in the center and bottom stiles for drainage. Won't last forever but will last a long time.

I only have enough clamps to glue a few at a time...but I have until Sunday to deliver them.

I've have a man doing some labor here lately. He's the uncle of one of kiddo's friends. His daughter called this morning to say he had another heart attack and was life flighted to Colo. I've not heard back from her since 8 this morning. Praying he's okay. He lost his job because of 2 earlier heart attacks recently, thus doing handyman stuff for $$.

Got up early and mowed trails this morning...cool enough for long sleeves. Supposed to be upper 90's next week and that's no fun for that kind of work.

Lots of sanding to do this evening after work.

Nope, raining here. Just like it does most most every day. It got so dark we had to turn on the light inside just to make sure we could move without tripping over something. I can recall summer months that were wet, but this summer is all wet.

It has been a dark week, that is for sure. Dark and super humid. Although I didn't get much precipitation during the week (mostly drizzle and short rains), I couldn't get anything to dry indoors since the humidity inside was in the mid 70's. At least with no solar gain, and mild temps for this time of year, I didn't have to use the mini split. Even then the solar array barely made more than I used. Yesterday afternoon I got breaks of sun which tripled the energy output so I felt okay doing laundry to wash & dry all the towels/washcloths that didn't dry after my morning shower (this is a totally personal foible - I'm attached to the grid so could use the washer/dryer anytime if I really needed/wanted to).

Dry air mass flowed in last night so I'll get to mow and hang my towels out to dry

Well that didn't work so well, the humidity came back in along with the heavy, dark clouds. I did mow early enough that the grass was dry. But my bath towel, hand towel etc went out on the clothes line damp a bit after mowing, and 5 hours later came back inside still damp and threatening rain (it didn't). At least it stayed in the 60's so it didn't feel miserable.

You can have all of our share of 90's and above. I prefer 80 and below; mostly below.
