Realized i needed to stack higher to get my wood all stacked this year so i had to climb up there take tarps off , ditch all the uglies on top , and basically restack as high as possible…as u can see the hedge trimmer came into play…
We have virtually unlimited storage area if we keep building upward, but there comes a point when it’s neither feasible nor practical, and gravity eventually lets us know
You do what ya gotta to get it done. I think the highest stack i ever did was in the 7' range. Between two trees and it never fell over either.
I burn the uglies but if I need something to wiegh down my tarps I'll use an ugly before any other splits. Or put uglies on top so the stack is more stable
I toss the uglies between two rows of wood for storage. They get burned in our little Jotul room heating stove in our dining room. We go through a lot of them if we have guests over for dinner, or if it’s really cold out.
I too climb on top of my stacks. There's no better way to move the rubber when it's time to cover/uncover.
Guessing he does, but just got them off the tops of his stacks so he could keep stacking upwards. I hope I’m right, cause I love ‘em and that would definitely be a waste
My stove is an equal opportunity stove. Except for that green wood, it really is prejudiced in that regard. and yeah, I'm blaming the stove.
I burned nothing but uglies last march-april…but i do have the luxury of pushing a wheelbarrow right in front of my stove…if i didnt have that access i might be reluctant…
Yes you are correct just moved them off the top so i could go higher easier…they will be burned inside for sure
My goal is to level all my stacks with the highest one to the left…will see it it happens not sure if its worth it but i am still running low on space and as you can see theres more to be stacked…also would really enjoy the privacy especially because i love to urinate outside when i get home from work
