    Welcome, Noth!

You don't cover your split wood?

My old man never covered his wood  , so I never did either, but lately I've started covering it. Seems it can't hurt and can only help, BUT it's really not that big a deal. Just need to get it to a dry place for a bit before you burn it.

    Welcome!

The stack I’ll burn this year will get covered soon. Then moved into a garage bay later this fall. I haven’t covered it yet because I need to replace my bigger stove which can take lengths of 24”. So I might need to trim down splits. I’ve only recently started measuring lengths because it only needed to be 24 or less and that was easy to eyeball. So I’ll get to restack and separate soon more then likely and then it’ll get covered.

Welcome. You certainly have your work cutout for you with the size and shape of some of those "rounds."

Got the new splitter a couple weeks ago and haven’t been home to use it. Finally got the chance to drag it out and run it for a few hours. IMG_1665.jpeg IMG_1666.jpeg

It’s a 12-22 and splits faster than I can feed it. Most of what a ran through it today was pretty ugly. Looking forward to running some better looking wood through it.

Thanks for giving us the tour of your place. Splitter looks like it will get the job done and the lift will come in handy with the size of some of your rounds you showed us. What saws are you using?

I have Never covered my split wood, no reason to. Water won't soak back into the wood. o_O It dries much better uncovered, more air movement around the wood. Now where's Uncle Augie when we need his expertise...:rofl:

    That’s a real nice splitter.

How long did you have to wait to get it ?

Did you get a 4way or 6way wedge with it ?

That's the saw I started with. Nothing wrong with it and keep up the good work.

Thanks it was a long wait
I had to wait 11 months. I got the tall 4 way and the 5 way box wedge.

Moving the splitter around wasn’t a lot of fun, so I had to put this contraption together. I can’t even see it from my pickup. The wife’s truck at least has a back up camera but still not the easiest to maneuver around the yard. IMG_1667.jpeg
