It's a humid one today but not the worst we've had this year.

The scales read 199.6 this morning so once I hit 198, just maybe we'll go out for supper.

I wanted to finish up the clear cutting I have been working on, but today turned out to be HOT and HUMID. I worked for 3 hours this morning, with lots of water breaks, and I am not quite done yet. Maybe tomorrow morning I will finish up the job.
Pics will come when I am done.

Today I helped a neighbor out, I put in the back rack of firewood for this year. I'll be putting in more firewood for them but before that happens, I'll mow some grass over here

They did get some nice firewood over a year ago, a good amount of what I put in was some solid beech that they'll like when the colder weather hits.

Since we have another stretch of rain starting tomorrow, the trails and lawn were mowed today.

I finally finished getting this area clear cut enough to have the new septic system put in. They will pull stumps and push the brush up into the woods.

This is what the area looks like now after having the trees removed.

This cherry tree will have to come down after having the top of it broken. I also have to clean up the tops of the trees I dropped on my stacked wood.

Today I put in more firewood for a neighbor, the first stack had more beech in it than anything else and the second stack is the same so they should keep nice and warm this winter.

I did get a few breaks, the first one I had coffee with them and had a nice talk. It was a perfect day for it, we started out with a temp of 54.4 this morning with a nice breeze.

Sorry Zap i missed this post. I did not and completely forgot about that thread. June and July were humid and work was busy. Wanted to get the shed done first. Scores werent for the taking on FBM either. Id say i got between 1.5 -2 cords so far. My goal by labor day was three cord so maybe able to reach that goal. Waiting on a potential big score and may go cut tomorrow. Most of my cuts have been partial loads.

Last year I'm pretty sure it started around Sept 25th, some years we've started on Sept.15th.

Hopefully we get a one or two weeks of nice weather (not in a row) before we start burning. We have 15 face cord of pine up, I was hoping we would burn all 15 by the time we stop burning next spring but we'll see how much is seasoned.

Most of the 15 face were from dead pine on the house property so it should be ready.

We had that same humid weather and the deer fly were relentless when working outside so along with the rains we received, I might've cut two face cord at the most.

I called the neighbors I've been moving in firewood for, they had more ironwood undercover outside that they might use this winter so I was given the ok so that is done.

All that is left is some cleanup and stack more wood outside undercover so I have more room to plow and things should be set for winter.

I'm not sure what will go on for work tomorrow, it will be either hitting the hills looking for downed/damaged trees or since it's wet out, maybe spending a day at the outside fireplace with a nice fire going would be nice.

I just heard something come down in the woods, maybe it was the basswood that is/was hung up in a smaller birch or maybe it's just another rotten pine, I'll see tomorrow morning.
