I’m planning to drop down and run US33 across. I’m empty and not in a hurry.

Got to figure out why this dump truck died last night. It's going to have to slack up raining some first. 20230811_071056.jpg 20230811_071056.jpg

Do you often have an empty run or are you able to find loads on either end of the trip?

Not uncommon to bounce 100-400 miles for a reload.

    and it’s basically paid for.

Our neighbor up north had some work done to his property a few years back. The contractor used something similar to that. It was pretty neat as he just drove it back and forth and spun the entire top around vs having to turn the unit around. It was cool to watch.

Yeah, I know it does. That’s why I was interested in going across when empty only.

As luck would have it, I went up to 68 to find a tire shop to replace a drive tire.

felling a lot like Heath at Hard Working Man…:(

Biggest thing I hated about tracked vehicles, how much mud was always there even after thorough washing.

sucked even more for field repairs.

Didn't get any pics, but rebuilt the cutter bar on dad's mo-co(hay cutter). 11 foot bar with 7 heads. Resealed each head and replaced some gears. Also adjusted the rake, wasn't going low enough on one side

20230821_155736.jpg Replacing brakes, drums slack adjusters, s-cams and bushings. Then move to the front for king pins. Also getting new suspension bushings and figuring out a wiring short. We had to rewire the pto on one truck today and replace batteries and alternator on another.

I"m part of the ratchet strap fuel tank club.. The piece that rusted off is a NLA and the strap T's into it. But thats an 86, not a 2004 so it has an excuse.
