Buddy at work buys pallets of returns from HD/Lowes and places like that to resell. Guess it’s pretty popular way to make a buck these days. Anyways he always lets me know whenever he gets any OPE. Most of it is low grade stuff and returns that have a part or two missing so I've always passed until now. Came away with this cs590 for 50 bucks. Missing bar/chain and clutch cover. I really don’t need this thing but there seems to be a lot of love out there for this model so figured why not. Piston looks good and it fires right up so not sure why it was returned. Looks like someone threw a chain though, so maybe they had wrong chain on and thought it didn’t work when in fact it was their fault.

I’m now on the hunt for clutch cover and bar. Thinking I want to put a 16” on it, maybe a tsumara or old total if I can find one. If anyone has extra clutch cover or bar let me know! Add another one to the collection!!!

    Sounds like an excellent deal!

It looks like that saw comes in 18" and 20" sizes.

16" would be hilarious on that saw, probably like a light saber.

Too good of a deal to pass up! I’ve been eyeing those saws myself. Lots of bang for the buck. Even more so at the price you paid!

Maybe try calling around to a few local Echo dealers. They may have some of the parts you need laying around in their pile of parts.

I run a 16” bar on my CS-680 when cutting on a log pile. Works quite well.

So the thing has some sort of carb problem I think. I can’t get it to pop with choke on and after about 6/7 pulls gas is coming out muffler. I can get it to start with choke off and WOT then it will run normal and restart while it’s still warm. Carb issue right? Diaphragm or some sort of needle valve stuck open? I have a bit of experience here but far form any kind of small engine mechanic. Looking for a little advice. Thanks!

New carb for these is on ebay or a site called Sawagain. Sometimes these echo saws are in a horrible state of tune from the factory, due to EPA regs.

I've purchased from Sawagain several times. No issues. My 2511 P came from them as nobody had one locally.
