HD’s Echo bar oil went from 10 to 19 in a year, so I had to find another source for bar oil. 2 cases for $80. I’ve got a few years worth now.

I have bought tractor supply bar oil (County Line brand) for years now when it is on sale, usually for $5-6 per gallon. I was there a couple days ago; it is on sale now for $13.99 per gallon!!!!!!

Just saw a bunch of the Cam2 bar oil at rural king for 7.99 a gallon last week. I didn't grab any thinking I had several at home, but when I checked I only have 2 gallons. I should have grabbed a bunch. It's not like it won't get used...

It doesn’t go bad, the price is not trending lower. I should have started hoarding bar oil sooner.

The two "local" Blaine's farm and fleet stores regularly have Mystic all season bar oil on sale for $7.99. The sale used to be $6.99 so not to terrible of a jump.

With gas and diesel prices going up and up, the bar oil will no doubt soar too.

A lawnmower place about a half-hour away had an overstock sale. Picked up 16 total gallons, half all season, half summer, for less than $6 a gallon. Figured that should last awhile, even with some CSM.

I have a dozen plus on the shelf at the moment and haven't really done any shopping recently so haven't checked.
Home Cheepo had about the best price a few months ago at $11 change a gallon if you buy four. Willing to bet the price has gone up there too.

EDIT: I just checked their website $15.58 if you buy 4 , $19.00 for a single. OUCH

Yeah they sell another brand that’s now cheaper than the echo. I have 12gals of Echo, my last gallon of x-guard and the 10 gallons in the pic.

Thanks for the tip! They’ll ship also. Just ordered 7 gallons. Had 6 in the cart but shipping was 30 bucks so added one more to get me to 7.99 shipping. Should be good for a bit now.

I too picked up a gallon at TSC this past week. It sure is thin stuff though, not same viscosity as Stihl orange jug. They had winter blend too, it must be like water:rofl:

I was cutting some saplings very low yesterday and got inna dert a little on last cut. Pizrevved the saw a couple times to 'clean ' it and killed the saw. Pleasantly surprized at the amount of oil on the chain. Echo's like to oil, but if it's sticking then it must be decent oil? Just the CAM2 stuff from Rural Kang. The chain was glistening with oil after a couple quick revs. I use some Makita branded stuff that physically looks better than the CAM, but is every bit as thin. I have both summer and winter grade from Makita. The Mak winter stuff stayed liquid last year when I was out in the low 20s working. Some older Jonsered winter oil I had would start to get thick at those temps. It was red colored like ATF.

I picked up 2 gallons of CAM2 at RK this evening at 8.99 / gallon. I should have got it a couple weeks ago when it was 7.99...

Wish we had a Rural King store within driving distance up here. Tractor supply used to be the cheaper place to get bar oil but no longer, it was $15/$20 a gallon for country line all season or winter last week. I’m going to have to order some online before long as I’m down to the last 3 jugs I’ve got.

Checked bar oil inventory the other day, only had 9.5 gal. left. Was by RK yesterday evening and picked up a case for $8.99 gal. And a little extra fodder for the pew pews.
