Been doing it since I was a kid....would acquire silver dollars, etc., now I have been into commemoratives for quite some time....always figured they'd be worth a lot of money, but, truth be known, I've never sold a one!

I'm with Gary, I collect change and turn it in when the pail is full.

And to anyone else it may be boring, as long as you enjoy thats all that matters

I have a fairly decent collection of many US coins. mainly the state quarters and presidential dollars. Also have books for pennies / nickles / dimes / quarters.

About 25 years ago I was in a record store that catered to the younger crowd, looked down on the floor and saw some bills laying on the floor, 13 dollars in silver certificates. I know that some kid must of got into his grandparents stash!

When my Great Grandma died in 1974 my Grandpa took 4 or 5 coffee cans full of change that he found stashed in the house to the bank to be cashed in! Somebody at the bank made out good it was probably 30-50% silver coins!

My grandfather had a vending machine business and once in a while we would find a handful of silver quarters in the Pacman machine. That kid was sneaking into someone's stash.

I have a 1924 dime from my ancestor. Not valuable but I treasure it. I also have a jug full of older pennies. Not worth anything but at this point I might be able to find one minted each year for bday years for many in my family tree.

value....value...value....they aren't worth squat if you don't sell em! And I have never sold a one. I figure my descendants will probably spend them not knowing what they are, or what they are worth.........*sigh*:(

I was thinking of starting to collect -invest in Gold coins and stash them in the safe or at the bank safe deposit. Glad i didnt do it last year when gold was over 1300, I put it into TSLA instead.

When me and my sisters were young Grandma would have a couple of dollars in change scotch taped inside of our birtday cards! That was HER money she got from selling eggs and she would always let Grampa know that!:)

I have a bunch of my great grandparents silver money. I don't think it's anything rare or anything but never looked into it either. The old man kept bicentennial quarters too. I have a bunch of them plus for some reason I have like over $300 in state quarters. Plus wheat pennies.
