Had to go to recycling center so a stop at the wood dump was in order. Drove around back to where the big haulers dump and just this pile of pine. IMG_3694.JPG Pulled around to the front and was ready to leave when i spotted some mulberry mixed with Norway maple. Not much but i go gaga over mulberry :loco:  There was a few more mulberry rounds i had already unloaded. (pic taken at storage) More searching and i found some black locust buried and shocked what i pulled out was mostly cut to the correct length. IMG_3700.JPG IMG_3695.JPG IMG_3696.JPG IMG_3696.JPG Processed the whole load at storage. IMG_3697.JPG IMG_3698.JPG IMG_3701.JPG IMG_3702.JPG IMG_3703.JPG
Not too bad considering ive found nothing the last few trips.

All right! No waterlogged white pine mania today? ;) Until seeing the mulberry splits I almost thought you accidentally scored catalpa. Glad it's the good stuff instead.

There is one catalpa log in the mix. Not worth mentioning. As i was scrounging the mulberry i said to myself "Eric will be proud"

There may have been more buried but after stepping in a 6" deep puddle and sweating i was done!

Nice score! I saw a few rounds last time I was there, but a bit big for the taking. Glad you were able to get after it Brad!

I'll tell you, that pine in that size will split nicely and produce great BTUs.

There's always plenty of softwood logs for the taking but with an abundance of hardwood around here, i know of nobody that will burn them other than kindling. I did burn EWP years back once.

Hemlock was the only softwood I burned. Most of it was scraps from the sawmill. I just mixed it in with everything else.
And no chimney fire either = amazing.

I love scoring wood at the transfer station. I always feel if I’m out in my truck I hate coming home empty handed. Sometimes it’s wood. Sometimes it’s power equipment, sometimes it’s electronics etc.
