Yeah as brenndatomu stated...the tailboard isnt beat to chit. I would get another F150 in a heartbeat. It would have to be well used as im not forkin out a small fortune for a new one. Hoping for another two years out of the current one. 181K miles and going strong. Halloween it'll be five years since i got it...2008 model.
181k is hardly broken in. Tippy, my F250, has 257k and running strong. The 06 E350 with 5.4 had 300k when I sold it and running like a top.
My 09 has 190K and runs as good as the day I bought it new off the lot. Those modulars have the potential to last a long time if you maintain them.
Of the three the F150's ive owned this one has the highest mileage by far. The others were almost driven by me until they died. I work them hard as youve seen. When this one starts breaking down with frequency i may send it packing. Doesnt owe me anything.
Stopped in at the shop today to help with a project and came home with this. They even stretch wrapped it for the ride home. Mostly oak this time.
My source of wood like that ended a couple years ago. My advice to you is get as much as you can now! And yes, I did remember to bring cookies/bakery (in addition to cash) when I showed up at the place. They just discontinued it is all.
Got another load today. Close to 2/3 cord of oak, hickory, poplar, and a tiny bit of sycamore. Looked like the Beverly hillbillies with two pallets of wood, a ZTR, tiller, and walk behind blower in the trailer but I'm not out to impress.
My son texted and said he has 5 more pallets at work for me to pick up. I only like to haul 3 at a time on the trailer...they're wicked heavy.
