Good morning folks. Time for a donut run for the wife and I . Then i want to wash the truck and then we have a birthday party at a neighbors house. Not going to get super crazy with work today.

Brent got the saws portion of what we did done.

I gotta admit, I thought the 500i was hype…. It’s not. I was impressed with just how smooth that thing ran. Amazing the difference between a carb saw and that fuel injection.

now if they’d just get a 50ish cc version

I’d want it fuel inject just like the 500i.

my 362 is supposed to be M-tronic too.

The goal of object lesson for 18 YO daughter was if your making $20 an hour and you DIY a job yourself you can do it and save $$$

the task replace 15 year old water softener.. old GE no longer available so going to need fittings to make it work

new Rheem is 4 inches shorter cap blocks will work
    No not enough

OK go get braided steel flex hose to connect water softener to copper
Nope don’t have male to female :headbang:

    have male to shark bite
OK cut copper it will work

Steel braid hose wrong size :hair:

send her to store for male to female reducer

an hour later brother shows up at house without daughter she visiting cousin’s

is she lazy? Less stubborn than I?
Or when I told her at 6 say please and show your pretty brown eyes, instead of being cranky… She learned that lesson well
    Time will tell

Too dang hot! Up at 5, and got out fo4 a little brush chipping, but once the sun is up a couple hours, forget it.
I managed to install three sun shade roll up blinds on the back patio. Makes a difference in late afternoon, as that is the west side of the house , and we enjoy our view across the valley.

hit Harbor Freight and got a close out deal on a 42” tool chest I needed. Spent some time deciding what tools should go in it; what tools will go in the Craftsmen 32”, and what to do with the China 24” that became too crowded. I think it will be taken to the tree farm once our new shop is built.

Hey, she got you help that was more interested in the project than she was - and no money involved, so what is there to complain about? I think everyone won except maybe your brother (and maybe he wanted to come see you anyway).

I bought kiddo a Kids fire tablet in 2020 (when schools closed for Covid). I signed on to Amazon today to check on delivery estimate on an order, there is a Barbie thing in my cart and Barbie browsing history. Learn something new everyday, she can access my Amazon account with her Kids Fire. Yes, I bought her the Barbie clothes :)

Taking the Blaze to laundry mat next week (comforters), showed kiddo how to check/add oil and power steering (ps has always leaked), It's been so long I can't find the PS. Little black cap seemingly has disappeared, poof! I'll have point it out to me when he gets home.

This morning, I dropped the rest of an ash tree that mother nature topped last week when an evening storm blew through. We'll burn the scrap at the pit some evening and the good stuff will be added to the pile for future heating duty.

There are a few other trees that snapped of similarly (topped) but aren't in the immediate line of vision. One is along the shoreline and that is ready to burn as of Sunday. The rest are in the woods enough to not be concerned about.

Can you believe that is is 67F and no rain today, (not here anyway) Someplaces going down into the high 30's tonight. We have had days of rain, then oppressive heat. Now some good weather. Will try to get out someplace tomorrow. We live in such a pretty area that it is hard to want to leave except to satisfy the need to get out now and then. Found a picture of a sturgeon jumping out of the water. Those fish are huge. No fishing for them as they are protected. They look like something prehistoric.
[IMG]This picture taken about 4 miles up the road by the Kennebec River.
We live near the river, but high up, maybe a few hundred feet above the river. Can't see it from home as we are on the other side of a hill
