We caught a pile of rainbow trout last night, so the smoker got a workout today. Nothing but hickory. I had some trouble with my meat thermometer, so they are a bit over done, but they sure taste good. I smoked a few bullheads and a panfish too.

These were hot smoked. 140-200⁰ F
    Wet brine

We built the smoker right before smoking the fish, so it was somewhat of a test run. It worked great, and the temp was pretty easy to control.

    Drooll........

    Man I love smoked fish!

I live 3 miles from an enormous lake with tons of fish and have not been fishing one time in the 3.5 years we've been here....:headbang:

I don't like trout, but that looks like a fun (successful) project from the catching all the way through to the eating.

Well, get out there and fish! The two things you regret are not enough fishing and not enough time with family. Fishing with your family fixes both!

Good advice, but I don't have a much more than a clue how to catch a fish.
Maybe this fall I'll take the time to figure it out....too doggone hot right now.

Fishing is easy. Most people make it harder than it is. Get a spinning rod/reel (the reel with the big wire loop on it). It's the easiest and most versatile.
